PROFILE OF FOUNDING CHAIRMAN

Apostle Chris Naidoo

Chris started his career way back in 1972 with the then South African Permanent Building Society where he became one of the key leaders under the leadership of the well-known and respected banker, Bob Tucker. Chris was responsible for the development of the mass market and managed a large property, investment and branch network. He resigned from the Perm in 1991 to devote his time and passion to the empowerment of the historically disadvantaged communities.

However, four years later Bob Tucker, who had subsequently joined Standard Bank of Africa, managed to persuade Chris to get back into the banking sector to pioneer the E-Bank concept in the Western Cape and thereafter Chris became the area manager of retail banking for Standard Bank, Western Cape. His responsibilities included management of the branch network, consumer division, home loans, and emerging market. Coupled with this, he was also extensively involved in the transformation and re-engineering processes within Standard Bank of Africa.

Having understood and experienced the power of networking, collaboration and partnering together has spoiled Chris to ever think that any person can achieve greatness on their own. For this reason he spends his personal time, energy and resources on providing platforms for key people to excel, gain access and grow so that they in turn can provide opportunities for countless others that are less fortunate than themselves.

Chris believes that it is in assisting ordinary people to overcome the enormous challenges that face them, that one can build a strong civil society. Whilst the move to get individuals to give renewed attention to their spiritual heritage is escalating amongst Christians in South Africa, Chris is convinced that one has to acquire additional competencies that will address and eradicate our nations moral, social and economic skills. He has achieved this objective by means of using the HOAF network and also serving on the board of numerous NGO's and community organisations over the years.
